My interview went very well last night and the lady I interviewed with said to expect to hear back in about three weeks.

Sweeps started at FOX and everyone is going nuts. For all you non-TV people, sweeps is something that happens four times a year (February, May, July and November) and it's when networks determine their advertising prices based on how many viewers they have. So a network could charge $X per viewer or per 1,000 viewers or something along those lines. So it's up to the networks to do big stunts during these months to draw in more viewers so they can then show potential advertisers how many people would be watching their programming and would see their advertising. Anyway, for news it means big stories and month long investigations and in depth human interest pieces. It also means that we have to have every show be perfect. And trust me, it ain't easy. Since we are a one hour newscast, we have more possibilities to make a mistake. However, I can't proudly say that the three days that I have floor directed since sweeps started have been good shows, from a production side at least. There have been some mistakes like wrong supers or clipped mics, but everything's been good on the floor.

Today it's November 9th and the high in LR is supposed to be in the 80s. That day of fall and winter we had a few weeks ago was great. And I guess we just wrapped back around to summer. Fall and Winter, we hardly knew ye.
